Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review May 2014

20140506-112127.jpg

Wantable (Intimates)

Cost: Subscribe for $36 per month or try a one time purchase of $40

What is Wantable?

Wantable created a way for the  jewelry and accessories lover to receive new and distinct pieces in their wardrobe by just a stroke of a key. All you need is a tiny bit of time to complete your style profile, and some patience while Wantable put’s together 3 to 4 handpicked accessories with the assistance of guest Sam Schuerman.

If you missed my April box click here to take a peek!

Now on to my Review for May 2014!

20140506-112504.jpg

The box recently underwent a change from the white patterned box with the Wantable logo from the new semi-gloss black box with the Wantable logo. Each item inside is protected by foam and now a newly added velvet pouch for each jewelry item in order to hold each item safely in the box.

20140506-112527.jpg

In every box is a Wantable profile preference sheet, which will remind you of the options you selected in your beauty profile (just in case you want to change any of your answers).  I have included my profile here, so if you like what I receive than you can tailor your own to receive a similar style of box! One thing I found out is that Wantable recently removed many items from the survey selections, which altered what subscribers received quite a bit.

20140506-112645.jpg

 Amelia Bracelet

Previously, I was able to remove all wood or wood accented pieces, but now with the newly renovated survey’s I find that the option is not available. They just don’t appeal to me. I returned the whole box, since Wantable does not allow partial exchanges :(

20140506-112734.jpg

 Jaureen Watch

I liked the style of the watch, but the piece was a bit earthy for my tastes. I had to modify my profile more and hope my next box will provide me with suitable pieces according to my tastes.

20140506-112812.jpg

Brianna Earrings

Although I did like these earrings, it was not worth me holding on to a box of items I did not care too much for.

20140506-112914.jpg

Mae Ring

Another piece I did like, but had to return since the returns process forced me to do a return on “all or nothing”.

My preferences seemed to be altered a bit and I even found that even after contacting customer service they stated that many options were removed! This is the first time I have ever returned a subscription box, but I am glad they have such a generous return policy (even including a pre-paid return label)!  I hope that Wantable returns these options to remove certain accents or textures!

Choose which recipes you’d like each week, and Plated delivers all of the perfectly portioned ingredients directly to you – No need to grocery shop or recipe hunt, and best of all, no excess waste! We provide you with a convenient and nutritious to make something extraordinary!

If you missed my prior Plated review click here to take a peek of how amazing it turned out!

I have started becoming a regular with my Saturday deliveries, so here is my First April review, from March 17th 2014 Selections. Although this menu from the  March 17th 2014  Selections are no longer available, take a peak at newly added Menu every Monday on Plated (updated weekly, new menu every Monday).

20140503-142854.jpg20140503-143034.jpg

I selected 2 different Plated meals from  the  April 21st 2014 Selections  and had to choose between delivery either on Wednesday 4/30/14 or Saturday 5/3/14. Every Plated order arrives just when they say it will and this huge box is like a huge chest, insulated with foam and ice packs!

20140503-143138.jpg

Included are recipe cards that rest inside the box. Here is the front of the Recipe card for the first order.

I enjoy how each item is perfectly measured and freshly delivered. The meals are never over-complicated.  I am a simple eater and in a weird way adventurous, so it did not surprise me at all that I have not heard or tried some of these ingredients before.20140503-165003.jpg

The first meal was my favorite from the two! I am always intimidated with what appeared to be new foods or techniques (curse you Food Network), so Plated allows me the ease and know how to try and even cook new and different foods!

Even my husband cleaned his plate and he is not one for trying or eating his vegetables!

20140503-143152.jpg

The Second Recipe -  Pork Tenderloin with Apricot and Arugula Salad

The step-by-step recipe cards that are included are handy! The front of the Recipe card is pictured above. The recipe cards allow me to prep and cook this meal in less than 30 minutes!  I can even save the recipe cards for repeat recipes I want to make totally on my own if I choose!

20140510-181257.jpg

The Second meal was pretty tasty! I loved the subtle textures and flavors of the dish!

The one reason I love these food subscription boxes is because of how I can easily create a new and fresh meal flawlessly every week or at least once a month (meals took under 30 minutes each)!

It is amazing the items my husband and kids are trying with these boxes. My husband especially has seen that he is not as picky when hearing the name of an ingredient is in the food, because most of the time he smells it and it smells fantastic! He is the pickiest eater, and I have found that this experience has allowed us to try many items that I would never have bought before, mainly due to his taste for food being so particular and plain!

So for the same price as a meal out, you can make dinner from your home with the same $15 per plate (minimum 4 plates) with 2 plates free with your first Plated order Click Here or get lower plate costs with a $10 membership reducing plate cost to $12 per plate (minimum 4 plates) with 2 plates free with your first Plated order Click Here. I say it is worth a shot!

If you are considering trying Plated than here are some reason’s why you should:

1. New meals come out every week – If you don’t like one week, skip it and enjoy the next one.

2. You are able to try completely remarkable foods!

3. Every thing you receive is fresh and delicious

4. If you waste money on food, well guess what, this is perfect because you only receive what you need for the meals!

5. Want to try new and flavorful foods? This is perfect for you… I have tried so many ingredients that I am addicted to the taste of new food (is that even possible?)

6. Have a picky husband or spouse? Surprise them with a meal and don’t tell them what is in it till afterwards! I bet they will eat it and start eating healthier, because of you forcing them to try new foods (secretly)!

The menu is updated weekly and I love how they have ton’s of recipes each week!!! They even send me updated recipe cards every week in my email, which I love strictly for the convenience factor! You can skip multiple weeks, but it would be wise to at least order twice a month if you pay the membership fee; otherwise, you are loosing out.

Did you order your Plated box? Let me know how you like it!

Sudsy Box Soap Subscription Box May 2014 Review

20140509-124905.jpg

Sudsy Box

Cost: Choose a $20 Bi-Monthly subscription, a 6 month subscription $57, or go yearly for $100 and get a box free!

Coupon: use promo code SPRING20 to save 20% on your First Order!

What is Sudsy Box?

Receive handcrafted hand-selected scented soaps bi-monthly… you choose your plan! Imagine the scents of Lavender and Rosemary or my favorite Orange and Lemon every time you bathe!  Each subscription will come with  3 handcrafted, natural soaps (4 oz ‘s each) and one sample of a lip balm, lotion bar, sea salt scrub or body butter, which you will receive every other month!

20140509-124929.jpg

Each Sudsy Box comes with a guide that describes the contents of your exquisite soaps!

20140509-124956.jpg

The Lotka paper is made from an ingenious material that comes from the Daphine Bush (the ultimate environmentally safe paper made in Nepal) and each wrapper on the soap is made from the same material. I am amazed with the care and creativity that went into making and packaging the soaps, which the paper contains seeds which allow you to grow wildflowers. Instructions are given on the back of the paper!

20140509-125023.jpg

Lavender Dream Soap

One of my favorite scents is lavender, which is extremely calming and pampering!

20140509-125222.jpg

The soap is the perfect blend of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Essential Oils.

20140509-125445.jpg

Morning Mist Soap

I would never have thought I would love spearment soap so much, but this is now one of my favorites!

20140509-125657.jpg

The spearmint really does aid in elevating my mood and relaxing my muscles!

20140509-125857.jpg

Orange Mocha Espresso

The bar can be used to exfoliate your body and smells like an orange filled truffle!

20140509-130034.jpg

After using this delectable soap I instantly felt as though my skin was immensely conditioned and pretty exfoliated! the scent seemed strong at first, but then left a pleasant cocoa scent behind that seemed to penetrate through the house with the aid of my natural body heat!

20140509-130305.jpg

Glossy Lip Balm in Peppermint

I love the blend of this lip balm…. It is ultra smooth and smells fantastic. Reminds me of Thin mint Girl Scout cookies!

Receiving handcrafted soaps is such a treat! I am one who usually avoids soap because of how drying bar soaps are. However, these handmade luxuries provided my skin with all natural ingredients with a light and pleasant scent! I think what I love most about these soaps is that they are made from just a few basic ingredients like Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter!

20140507-161746.jpg

Now on to Mays Review:

20140507-161901.jpg

My first reaction to all the tiny deluxe samples was to cancel my subscription box, but after reviewing subscription boxes for quite some time I have learned patience and to delay my reaction until I review everything! Since Facial and Beauty products cost so much these days, I was wise to calculate just how much each of the small vials would have cost me just to try the Full size and was amazed with the value inside this box! Just one product alone would have cost me $95 an ounce!

20140507-161915.jpg

Included in every box is an Allure mini catalog, which features the newest trends and beauty tips. Before Allure use to also include a postcard educating you of the samples included, but they recently stopped since already presenting the information in an email and on your Beautybar.com dashboard.

20140507-161938.jpg

Borghese Gel Delicato Makeup Remover (0.5 fl. oz) $1.42

The oil-free makeup remover gel is lightweight and provides a cooling feeling when applied. However, it was not tough enough to remove my Too Faced mascara.

20140507-161958.jpg

Juice Beauty CC Cream (0.17 oz) $3.90

This cream is gentle on my skin and makes my skin light up! I haven’t used it long enough to test results, but so far so good!

20140507-162015.jpg

dermalogica Age Smart Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 (0 .34 oz) $13

The skin cream provides maximum hydration for aging skin, which includes a mixture of Shea Butter and Primrose!

20140507-162036.jpg

Murad Pore Reform T-Zone Pore Refining Serum (.0125 fl oz.) $0.19

I am in love with this Serum! I have tried Murad before and have had good and bad things to say about the Brand, but this tiny little sample of Murad T-Zone Pore Refining Serum is all I needed in my subscription Box. At just 0.0125 fl. oz’s this little vial will last about a week and is wonderful at controlling oil production on your T-Zone! I use this product with and without makeup and was able to get a oil-less complexion each time!

20140507-162052.jpg

Sonia Dakar Flash Facial Exfoliating Treatment  (0.4 oz) $39.60

Out of all the facial products I have used as an exfoiliater this is my favorite! The pricey treatment is $95 an ounce, but was the only treatment I have used that I could immediately feel working and seemed to instantly minimize blemishes!

This months box was pretty good!  The value for everything was around $58, so with paying $15 for the month was simply amazing…. and now with their mess up I get double that amount… outstanding! Remember… when receiving small samples… look into the value of what the full size would cost you and take a look at the quality before giving your decision about the box!

Cost: $29.95 a month plus shipping

What is  From the Lab?

Receive 1-2 custom made full size products such as Skincare, Haircare or Color Cosmetics!  From the Lab ensures that their products are never animal tested and are paraben-free!

Now onto my first  From the Lab Review!

20140506-134100.jpg

Each product comes with a detailed magazine detailing the product’s benefits and ingredients.

20140506-134144.jpg

Face Primer No. 327  $19.95

The smooth primer did in fact create a canvas-like film that allowed my makeup to stay fresh for hours. However, the formula works best on those who do not use BB Creams or those who have darker complexions since the cream tends to make your skin pasty.

20140506-134212.jpg

Eyelift Primer No. 328 $19.95

The eyelift primer has tons of shimmer and kind of reminds me of Too Faced Candelight eye primer; however it was not as good at minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Although the affects did last I did notice my fine lines did not minimize as the primer suggests. I think I will stick with my Too Faced!

For the $29.95 I was able to receive both products, which have a retail value of $44.95! The value is decent, although one of the products I will be giving to my sister, since she does not suffer from fine lines.

20140506-131535.jpg

Enclosed within the box is a nice postcard that wished all Mother’s a Happy Mother’s Day!

20140506-131558.jpg

Silver Bar Necklace by Lumo$40

I was definitely expecting some jewelry up in the Mother’s Day Box. The necklace pleases the masses in it’s simplicity and  16″ sterling silver chain! If you are not a fan of Sterling Silver, than this box may not be for you. For me… I adore Silver, gold, multi, rose…. pretty much anything with some bling!

20140506-132152.jpg

Fancy Nail Lacquer $21

The set includes 1 Fancy Red, 1 Fancy Black 0.5oz bottles and Rainbow Honey’s Summer Juice Cuticle Balm! The cuticle Balm is the best one I have smelled yet and is super moisturizing. Both polishes have an amazing gloss to them and it reminds me of NCLA’s formula… pretty much two coats your done, quick dry, and high gloss!

20140506-133436.jpg

Tilt Mug $15

The ingenius design of the Tilt mug allows you to steep your tea with minimal work and mess! I love the design and could not wait to try out the diffuser on some of my Chai Tea’s!

20140506-133547.jpg184479168417762209_cbd333fecee8

Japonesque Safari Collection Make-up Brushes $20

I have quite a bit of Set of Japonesque already, and love the quality and affordability of these sets! The set comes with 3 wildly chic brushes from Japonesque!

20140506-133630.jpg357006834336274021_e45b729daea7
Selection Decanting Pourer by Menu $13

The Decanter helps filter, split and oxygenate the wine as you pour!

20140506-133704.jpg

Midnight Clutch by Emilie M $50

The clutch is thin enough to stay out of the way, but large enough to fit everything I need it for! The sleek design is intricate and yet minimal, which allows it to match any outfit!

20140506-133753.jpg

Inside the clutch is a classic pinstripe design, which makes the depth of the bag seem even deeper!

The Mother’s Day Mystery Fancy Box totaled to a fantastic value of $159, which since only paying $79 plus shipping (Shipping Avg. $15.95) was a pretty good deal! I think what made the box worth it for me was how Fancy gives a selection of items that you can never find in one place! The box was full of all items I loved and will use, which considering the odds… is pretty good since there normally is at least one or two items that someone won’t like out of the box. The Clutch is absolutely amazing, I needed a decanter, and love the necklace!

What did you think about the new Fancy Mystery Box ?
