Every now and then in my subscription boxes I find a product that I did not expect to like or tried and found it worthy of it being my new favorite (I try a lot of products, so I have lots of favorites).

I finally narrowed down my favorite in my Ipsy. If you have ever ordered a Ipsy, then you know that the box has some fantastic brand names, but I finally was able to experiment and play around with everything!

Here it is, my fave product is (drum roll):

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave in Conditioner (1.7 oz) $3.60

I have been dying to try Sexy Hair Leave in Treatments and this one has Soy and Tri-Wheat Proteins which are said to work wonders!

I was a little worried about the scent at first, but it dissipated quickly and was not that bad after application.

How I used it:

The directions were all to simple: Spray on towel dried hair and comb through.

After using my Morrocan Oil Hair Mask from my New Beauty January Subscription Box (click here to take a peek at this review) I towel dried my hair and sprayed in a tiny bit of my Leave in Conditioner and styled my hair as usual (blow-drying and straightening).

The results of my flawless silky strands may have been due to the Morrocan Oil Hair Mask; however, I noticed that the Leave in Conditioner helped detangle my hair and left no residue (unlike other leave-ins I have used). If you are on the market for a new leave in conditioner that detangle’s and like the smell of cocoa, then this is the leave-in for you!

Since the wait for my box took a while (due to winter shipping issues), I was able to do some research on Vichy and found that this brand has been around for years and they have an extreme cult following! There are thousands of reviews and with a 4.9 star ranking, I can’t wait to give this cream a try!

 

Beauty Blender Pure and Travel Cleanser $20

During the Glossybox sneak peek I was able to have an idea of what the contents was going to be and loved that this beauty blender pretty much paid for my box! This is my first “Pure” blender because I currently use the “pink” regular makeup blenders.

 

Bella Pierre Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Desert Rose (Full Size) $20

I have tried Bellapiere before and they are great for my skin type; however, I am in love with my Tarte’ blushes and am not willing to trade so this blush will be thrown to the gift pile.

 

Balance Me Super Toning Wash (1.7 oz) $7

This little bottle of natural toning wash smells terrific, I love the scent of lavender!

 

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturizing Spray (2.5 oz) $5

The Sea Salt spray has a really strong scent, which will take some getting use to. I like reading reviews and found that one lady stated she used it as a substitute for wearing perfume, because it was so strong.

All-in-all I paid $21 and received a whopping $61 in products!!!! I would have purchased another beauty blender later, so this is a great deal to get the blender with so many other products!!! Amazing!

Every now and then in my subscription boxes I find a product that I did not expect to like or tried and found it worthy of it being my new favorite (I try a lot of products, so I have lots of favorites).

I finally narrowed down my favorite in my January 2014 New Beauty Test Tube  . If you have ever ordered a New Beauty Test Tube Subscription, then you know that the box has some great brand name products, but I finally was able to experiment and play around with everything!

Here it is, my fave product is (drum roll):

Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask (2.53 fl. oz) $7.55

I have never tried Morrocan Oil Products, but have wanted to after reading so many positive reviews! This product is said to have the ability to restore the condition to over-processed hair and boy could my hair use a lift!

I was able to try the Hydrating Mask on my chemically treated hair and the results were astonishing!

The directions are super easy:

1. Apply a teaspoon or more for longer hair in the palm of your hand


2. Distribute thoroughly through tower-dry hair, from scalp to ends.


3. Leave in 5 – 10 minutes, rinse.

First, my hair is infamous for DIY hair experiments, bleaching, dying, strengthening, and heat styling. I consider my hair to be damaged and frizzy; usually wearing my hair straight although it is naturally curly. I used my sample in the shower and washing my hair with sulfate free shampoo (Carols Daughter Rosemary Shampoo…love this stuff). After a good rinse, I was able to drain the water from my hair and blotted it with a towel. I applied a generous amount to my medium length thick hair and while I waited continued with my normal showering routine.

I only left the Mask on for about five minutes and after I rinsed my hair immediately noticed how soft and silky my hair was! After drying my hair seemed super shiny and my scalp seemed extremely airy!

After a week after blow-drying and straightening my hair, the results are still evident! I didn’t even realize that this product existed until I received a sample in my New Beauty Test Tube! After research I even found that this product was on the Top Ten list from InStyle magazine and I can definitely see why!

Although I am in no way a professional, I would say that this is a must have product for anyone who chemically treats, uses heat styling (blow drying and/or flat irons)  or colors their hair! The scent can be overwhelming if you don’t like sweet coconut type scents. I personally love the beachy scent, but for those who don’t care for coconut this might take some getting use to though.

I finally narrowed down my favorite in my Sample Society. If you have ever ordered a Sample Society, then you know that the box has some fantastic brand names, but I finally was able to experiment and play around with everything!

Here it is, my fave product is (drum roll):

Jane Iredale Just Kissed® Lip and Cheek Stain (sample) $8.33?

This lip/cheek stain is spectacular. At first (before reading) I opened the tube to this pale looking lipstick. However, after I swiped the color on my hand the perfect tint of pink for my tan complexion appeared (like magic)!

In the past it was hard to find a stain that worked with my complexion.  However, lately I have been using Josie Maran’s Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee and it has not let me down yet!

I tried Jane Iredale’s products before and found that a majority of times they were not complementary to my skin tone. Luckily, I gave this lip and cheek stain a chance because it works beautifully.

When I use the lip and cheek stain I only use a couple of dabs, because anything more (depending on your skin tone) may make you appear a little clownish. You would not think, because of the pale color of the creamy stick, that this little tube would be concentrated, but when it starts to change it is very pigmented!

I love that this product looks different on everyone… so for me it is a muted pink on my cheeks and a rosy pink on my lips. However, those trying it for the first time might want to start with a dab here and there to see if more color is necessary.

Favorite Birchbox January 2014 Subscription Box Product

I finally narrowed down my favorite in my January 2014 Birchbox. If you have ever ordered a  Birchbox Subscription, then you know that the box has some fantastic brand name samples, but I finally was able to experiment and play around with everything!

Here it is, my fave product is (drum roll):

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser (1 fl oz) $6.52

This product has over 3,000 positive reviews and I am sooooo eager to try it. The two-part skincare system  won more than 90 beauty awards and is said to remove all traces of dirt, grime, and makeup ( even your waterproof) with the help of it’s trust side kick the muslin cloth.

After testing this product, I clearly could tell that my face felt cleaner; however, I was able to use the muslin cloth alone and found that the power was not in the cleaner, but the cloth!

I was able to use the muslin cloth every night since receiving my box and found that it gave me the same results as my clarisonic. The Polish off cream had decent results, but the pure muslin cloth seemed to be the real genius as it gently dislodge dead skin cells and helped to reveal a clean and radiant skin!

For those who have never used a muslin cloth, then I would strongly suggest getting one for those days you don’t feel like scrubbing off your face with your clarisonic! Currently, I rotate or should I say alternate use with my clarisonic and have noticed that on my lazy days it just works out beautifully and I get a beautiful clean without as much work!

How I use my Muslin Cloth - 

Since receiving the cloth as one of my samples in my Birchbox I have learned to incorporate the muslin cloth into my daily skincare regimen.

1. As a cleanser I use Malin + Goetz detox face mask which I received in my January Popsugar Must Have Box (works fantastic).


2. I let the cleanser sit on my face for around five minutes and then run warm water on my muslin cloth.


3. After straining the water from my muslin cloth, then I just lightly wipe off the detox mask with the muslin cloth.


4. Follow with toner, serum, and moisturizer.

That’s it! My skin is combination and oily in my T-Zone so this regimen works fantastic; however, you can use other cleansers just fine with your muslin cloth!

I am always impressed with finding new samples that I can incorporate in my beauty regimen and January’s Birchbox was the best subscription box they had in a while!

These cufflinks are stylish, chic, and fun! I love the beautiful brushed steel finished detail on the bullet casings.

 Fancy Box is just one of those boxes where you need to have a little faith and experiment (choose your celebrity wisely). I think I liked the guys box better than the girls box though! I received a total of $102 worth of gear that I can say are grooming essentials! I only paid $45 (includes shipping) for this box and think this box had a fantastic value!
