Designed for ages 6+ (specifically 6-9) this subscription box will bring the galaxy to children without them even leaving the house!

I received a Space Scouts  subscription box courtesy of Space Scouts for the purpose of this review, so let’s check it out and see what we think!20140719-195843-71923140.jpg

Can we say that all this for the $11.95 price seems to good to be true? I was absolutely amazed with the creativity within the subscription and the detail they used to spark a child’s imagination! Included in the subscription is the Introduction/Welcome Kit and the first Month of the Subscription.

First, the box showed up promptly with a space shuttle sticker over the plain brown mailer! My kids went wild wondering what was in the box and my son of course asked if they sent a real space shuttle or rocket!

Enclosed was this lovely card, which explained the subscription box/club in more detail!

On the back of the card was details of everything enclosed, which for the price I was thoroughly happy with!20140719-195844-71924062.jpg

Inside this metal Space Scouts Lunch Box was all the activities included in the welcome kit! My son now has his adorable Kindergarten Lunch Box thanks to Space Scouts!

Activity Sheet 1 : Solar System Crossword

I will not tell a lie… I so took this from the kids to do myself. I just love me some crossword puzzles!

On the back of the activity sheet is another activity… a letter scramble! Can you figure out the scramble? My daughter (age 10) kept bragging how smart she was for figuring it out. I think I will find a harder one and time her to prove a point… just kidding (I’m not that competitive).

Solar System Poster

My daughter and son fought over this poster, but my son won with his classic pout. Included were stickers to affix Roxy and Jett to the space shuttle window!

Souvenir Toy 1: Wikki Stix

I know this box was for the kids, but I could not resist getting involved. I am a fan of textures and had to bend my way to happiness playing with these textured stix (would make great sensory stix in my son’s Kindergarten classroom)!20140719-195846-71926588.jpg

Activity: Sticker Scramble

The best puzzles are the ones that don’t leave a mess! Loved the sticker scramble and it was not too hard for us to do together as a family!

Constellation Card Introduction:

Instructions are included to allow your space explorer to envision the stars. The instructions elaborate on how to use the included constellation Card Cover and Ring (below).

Constellation Card Cover and Ring:

The card cover is attached to a ring that the cards go on. My daughter loved this idea and surprisingly it was her favorite part besides the constellation card itself.

Ursa Major Constellation Instruction Sheet:

The story line is fantastic and I even learned something! Every month subscribers will receive a new constellation card for their Constellation Ring!

Ursa Major and Big Dipper Constellation Card:

The instructions state you have to hold a flash light to it against the wall to reveal the constellation. At first we thought you had to hold the card up to the sky at night and try to match the stars.. it kind of worked and then we felt real smart after reading the instructions…. hee hee!

Souvenir Toys

My son (Age 5) loves a good action figure so these guys went flying down the stairs shortly after they were discovered. Shortly after my son asked where their parachutes were… I had to explain the difference between Air men and space men…lol

Space Scouts put together a fantastic galaxy voyage for my little space travelers. My kids love the lunch box, activities, and their favorite the Constellation Cards! For $11.95 a month the value this first month was remarkable!
