I received this kit courtesy of Madison Reed.

Bolzano Brown - 4NMG

First, I was able to take the profile questionnaire in order to tell me what color may be the best. My answers led me to select Bolzano Brown – 4NMG (pictured Above). Bolzano Brown is a natural dark brown with a blend of golden mahagony! Very Pretty!

When received your Madison Reed Hair Color Kit comes in a sturdy cover that hides a box inside.

Inside a note from Madison Reed reveals the contents within the box.

The box your product comes in is actually a tri-fold step-by-step instruction manual for your product. I love the idea of not having a bunch of papers to keep up with when trying to pay attention to the actual process of coloring your hair.

Inside is each product needed within your kit:

  • Radiant Cream Color & Conditioning Color Activator

  • Nourishing Color Enhancing Shampoo & Conditioner

  • Barrier Cream

  • 2 Pair Professional-Grade Gloves

  • Cap

  • Cleansing Wipes

I love how organized the kit is!

Alright so this is my Before the process shot! I selected a lighter brown then my hair color already. I have vivid copper/bronze highlights (some grays) already, so let’s see what this color can do.

Finally, I pulled everything from each of the cavities within the Box and pulled the gloves and cap from their protective casings.

First, you are told to separate your hair into four sections.

Apply the barrier cream, which will keep the product off your ears, neck, and face. I love the almost floral scent of this cream!

The Radiant Cream Color & Conditioning Color Activator have to be mixed together.

I despise these little toothpaste-like tubes, because you never get all the product out. You are suppose to have the gloves on at this point, but it was easier squeezing the tube without them.

Make sure you gradually roll the tube to ensure you get all the product out.

Once taking down a section of hair (from the four sections) you would start near the roots and gradually part the hair to make sure the product gets all the way around. I like the pointy applicator bottle, which makes the application process very simple when trying to part and apply the product.

After letting the product sit on my roots for a while, I gradually combed the rest of the product thoroughly through my ends and placed the cap (included) on.

Ok… one final comb and time to wash out the product.

Included in the kit was the Nourishing Color Enhancing Shampoo & Conditioner, which smelled pleasant and seemed to work just fine.

Here is how dark brown my hair looks when it is curly.

20140308-124433.jpg

I was surprised that my hair color looked this good, because I have really thick hair and the dye was sparse.

20140309-114307.jpg

Here is my hair straight… I really like the amazing color and vibrant highlights this color has given my hair!

I hope I get some more deep penetrating hair treatments, because my hair feels a little dry after the process.

I had to take a picture in the sun, so you could see the amazing brown color and shine!

All-in-all I am impressed with the packaging and great results of the color. All grays were covered (I didn’t have many but they were stubborn and bold white), which I am impressed with thus far!

The process was simple, but I wish they had given those with longer or thicker hair more product. I think I will end up getting the monthly subscription just because I like that I do not have to go to the store and look at isles of hair color products just to pick out one box for $10, then get a Gray color additive to block grays, and then hope the color looks even remotely like the box.

Right now take advantage of Madison Reed‘s 50% off special by using code TODAYSHOW and get your first kit for as little as $12.48!
