Let’s take a peek at what the New York box has to offer!

In every Escape Monthly there is a brochure outlining your travel experience and the descriptions of the items contained in your box.

Moon New York City Metro Guide (Hardback) $14.99

The fold out map inserts give details of subway routes and street names to the hottest sights, shops, restaurants, and amusements within the Big Apple!

I enjoyed going through this guide to see all the places I went to in my younger years.

Brooklyn Studio Travel Tin Candle $9.00

Everything about Brooklyn Candle Studio’s candles is natural! Brooklyn Artisan’s use American-made ingredients hand-poured is  small batches. This lemon grass scent is perfect for me!

Flint Creek Good Skin Blend Soap $3.00

These soaps are made with bentonite clay (a clay mined in the USA known for its deep-cleansing properties) and contains a blend of pure plant extracts. The scent of this bar first smells like eucalyptus mint, but then the scent fades into a pleasant almost evergreen clean scent. My husband loves this soap’s scent!

Kanpekies Peckigram Cookies (chocolate cherry) $8.00

I am not a fan of shortbread cookies, but I had to try at least one for the sake of this review. I could definitely taste the wonderful chocolate cherry flavor, but the shortbread taste was just not for me.

The Peanut Principle Gourmet Maple Peanut Butter $6.99

I could not find this brand online, but I did find some others with really high ratings. This will be new to me… hmmmm… Maple and Peanut Butter? The Maple doesn’t stand out and the peanut butter is really creamy. I think this will be great for peanut butter cookies…yum!

Sundaes Best Hot Fudge Sauce $6.50

The first thing I saw was how you can use it to make hot cocoa. I immediately grabbed my mug, filled up some hot milk, and mixed me a sensational glass of hot cocoa.

Better Brittle West African Style Peanut Brittle $4.75

It’s nice to have a change every once in a while. I am not much of a peanut or peanut butter person, but every once in a while I like to try different things. I was impressed with this brittle… it does not have the traditional chunks of peanuts and had a nice smooth taste!

New York Taxi Treats Cookies $2.99

At first I was not happy seeing more shortbread in the box, but these little cookies tasted like the old animal crackers I use to eat as a kid. Luckily these boxed cookies came in handy when watching my nephew! They were a perfect size and melted in his toddler mouth!

I Love New York Sticker (Bonus) $1.49

Although the sticker was not impressive at first. The facts behind the sticker actually made this sticker more impressive as I read! Fact: The sticker is a classic symbol created in 1977 by Milton Glaser to promote tourism, which the graphic is seen as pivotal part of pop culture!

I was not impressed with the value of this box being only $57.71 if the cost is $49.99; however, seeing that I only paid $25 for the box (50% off coupon – expired) the value was fantastic. The good news is that subscribers can save 20% off each month (new coupon code every month) with the life of their subscription making the subscription only $39.99! Next month the planned escape will be focused on Ireland, which will be an interesting box to get (especially for the upcoming holiday).
