I have started becoming a regular with my Saturday deliveries, so here is my Second February review, from February 3rd 2014 Selections. Although this menu from the February 3rd 2014 Selections are no longer available, take a peak at newly added Menu every Monday on Plated (updated weekly, new menu every Monday).

I selected 2 different Plated meals from  the February 3rd 2014 Selections: Winter Ragout over Pappardelle & Roasted Chicken Thighs with Cheesy Twice-Baked Potatoes. Every Plated order arrives just when they say it will and this huge box (pictured above) is like a huge chest, insulated with foam and ice packs!

The First Recipe -  Roasted Chicken Thighs with Cheesy Twice-Baked Potatoes

I enjoy how each item is perfectly measured and freshly delivered. The meals are never over-complicated.  I am a simple eater and in a weird way adventurous, so it did not surprise me at all that I have not heard or tried some of these ingredients before.20140216-172241.jpg

Roasted Chicken Thighs with Cheesy Twice-Baked Potatoes

The first meal was delightful, although I burned my hand as I was taking the Chicken out of the oven (My mitt slipped… ouch). The twice baked potatoes were to die for and I loved the concept of using Goat Cheese in the fluffy potato mixture with the chives! This was the first time I have ever tried Artichoke Hearts and I cooked them from scratch! I was always intimidated with the what appeared to be new foods, so Plated allows me the ease and know how to try different foods!

Even my husband cleaned his plate and he is not one for NEW foods or should I say any vegetables!

The Second Recipe - Winter Ragout over Pappardelle

The step-by-step recipe cards that are included are handy! Here is the front and back of the Recipe cards. They allow me to prep and cook this meal in less than 30 minutes! I not only could visualize what the heck I  am suppose to do, but I was able to carefully read every detail without straining my eyes! I can even save the recipe cards for repeat recipes I want to make totally on my own if I choose!

The ingredients for each of my meals are separated and ready for cooking. Prep is a cinch, which most of the time I am always tired before I even cook after the scavenger hunt of finding the right ingredients and prepping everything.

The Second meal was my absolute favorite! For one, I didn’t burn myself…lol! I used two pots for the whole meal and the taste was fantastic! My husband hates celery, but when the food was done scarfed down everything before I could tell him the recipe had celery! I still haven’t told him and he is looking at the huge amount remaining waiting for lunch to come around (I guess it will be our little secret.. wink, wink)!

The one reason I love these food subscription boxes is because of how I can easily create a new and fresh meal flawlessly every week or at least once a month (meals took under 30 minutes each)!

It is amazing the items my husband and kids are trying with these boxes. My husband especially has seen that he is not as picky when hearing the name of an ingredient is in the food, because most of the time he smells it and it smells fantastic! He is the pickiest eater, and I have found that this experience has allowed us to try many items that I would never have bought before, mainly due to his taste for food being so particular and plain!

So for the same price as a meal out, you can make dinner from your home with the same $15 per plate (minimum 4 plates) with 2 plates free with your first Plated order Click Here or get lower plate costs with a $10 membership reducing plate cost to $12 per plate (minimum 4 plates) with 2 plates free with your first Plated order Click Here. I say it is worth a shot!

If you are considering trying Plated than here are some reason’s why you should:

1. New meals come out every week – If you don’t like one week, skip it and enjoy the next one.

2. You are able to try completely remarkable foods!

3. Every thing you receive is fresh and delicious

4. If you waste money on food, well guess what, this is perfect because you only receive what you need for the meals!

5. Want to try new and flavorful foods? This is perfect for you… I have tried so many ingredients that I am addicted to the taste of new food (is that even possible?)

6. Have a picky husband or spouse? Surprise them with a meal and don’t tell them what is in it till afterwards! I bet they will eat it and start eating healthier, because of you forcing them to try new foods (secretly)!

The menu is updated weekly and I love how they have ton’s of recipes each week!!! They even send me updated recipe cards every week in my email, which I love strictly for the convenience factor! You can skip multiple weeks, but it would be wise to at least order twice a month if you pay the membership fee; otherwise, you are loosing out.

Did you order your Plated box? Let me know how you like it!
