Here is my Review of my order. I selected 2 different Plated meals from  the January 20th 2014 Selections: Baked Chili Chicken Meatballs with Chard and Peppers & Philly-Style Cheese Steaks.

Baked Chili Chicken Meatballs with Chard and Peppers

Every Plated order arrives just when they say it will and this huge box (pictured above) is like a huge chest, insulated with foam and ice packs! Included are recipe cards that rest inside the box. This time Plated Sealed the foam together, which created a mini fridge!

Baked Chili Chicken Meatballs with Chard and Peppers

I enjoy how each item is perfectly measured and freshly delivered. The meals are never over-complicated.  I am a simple eater and in a weird way adventurous, so it did not surprise me at all that I have not heard or tried some of these ingredients before.

The first meal was the Baked Chili Chicken Meatballs with Chard and Peppers.

This was the first time I ever had Chicken Meatballs I cooked from scratch! I must say that the chicken meatballs and tomato sauce were completely complimentary to the bitterness of the chard.  My husband cleaned his plate and he is not one for vegetables or should I say trying new foods! He even helped me out prepping the food (ok… he washed the Chard!).

Philly-Style Cheese Steaks

This step-by-step recipe card allowed me to prep and cook this meal in less than 30 minutes! I not only could visualize what the heck I  am suppose to do, but I was able to carefully read every detail without straining my eyes!

Philly-Style Cheese Steaks

The ingredients for each of my meals are separated and ready for cooking. Prep is a cinch, which most of the time I am always tired before I even cook after the scavenger hunt of finding the right ingredients and prepping everything.

The Second meal and what I thought was the best meal I had for a while was Philly-Style Cheese Steaks.

The Philly-Style Cheese Steaks turned out simply superb!!!! The Ciabatta bread melted in my mouth as the mixture hit my taste buds and danced down my throat. OMG… I even posted that I had to slap my mother after eating this glorious piece of heaven!

The finished plate was amazing!!

The one reason I love these food subscription boxes is because of how I can easily create a new and fresh meal flawlessly every week or at least once a month (meals took under 30 minutes each)!

It is amazing the items my husband and kids are trying with these boxes. My husband especially has seen that he is not as picky when hearing the name of an ingredient is in the food, because most of the time he smells it and it smells fantastic! He is the pickiest eater, and I have found that this experience has allowed us to try many items that I would never have bought before, mainly due to his taste for food being so particular and plain!

So for the same price as a meal out, you can make dinner from your home with the same $15 per plate (minimum 4 plates) with 2 plates free with your first Plated order Click Here or get lower plate costs with a $10 membership reducing plate cost to $12 per plate (minimum 4 plates) with 2 plates free with your first Plated order Click Here. I say it is worth a shot!

If you are considering trying Plated than here are some reason’s why you should:

1. New meals come out every week – If you don’t like one week, skip it and enjoy the next one.

2. You are able to try completely remarkable foods!

3. Every thing you receive is fresh and delicious

4. If you waste money on food, well guess what, this is perfect because you only receive what you need for the meals!

5. Want to try new and flavorful foods? This is perfect for you… I have tried so many ingredients that I am addicted to the taste of new food (is that even possible?)

6. Have a picky husband or spouse? Surprise them with a meal and don’t tell them what is in it till afterwards! I bet they will eat it and start eating healthier, because of you forcing them to try new foods (secretly)!

The menu is updated weekly and I love how they have ton’s of recipes each week!!! They even send me updated recipe cards every week in my email, which I love strictly for the convenience factor! You can skip multiple weeks, but it would be wise to at least order twice a month if you pay the membership fee; otherwise, you are loosing out.

Did you order your Plated box? Let me know how you like it!
